Jewish Federation of San Diego Responds to Tragedy in El Cajon

“We are deeply saddened by the tragic loss of a member of our Jewish community during the attack that occurred last night in El Cajon. This senseless act of violence also left two individuals injured, and our thoughts and prayers are with them and their families during this incredibly difficult time.

As we mourn the loss and pray for the swift recovery of those injured, we want to acknowledge the ongoing investigation by law enforcement. At this point, there is nothing to suggest that this incident was a hate crime, and authorities have not indicated that hate or prejudice were motivating factors in this devastating event. We trust in the investigative process and will await further information to fully understand what transpired.

In the face of this tragedy, our community stands united in grief and solidarity. We extend our heartfelt condolences to the family of the deceased, and our thoughts are with them as they navigate through this period of unimaginable loss.

During times like these, the strength of our community is more important than ever. We encourage everyone to support one another, offering love and compassion to those affected. Jewish Federation of San Diego remains committed to providing assistance and resources to the victims and their families.”
