Jewish Federation of San Diego Statement on Antisemitic Content in California’s Official Voter Information Guide
04/29/2026
Jewish Federation of San Diego (Federation) joins countless Jewish institutions across California in condemning the inclusion of vile and dangerous antisemitic conspiracy theories in California’s Official Voter Information Guide for the June 2026 Primary Election.
No disclaimer can undo the damage of lending the state’s imprimatur to this kind of hatred. This content had no legitimate place in an official government publication, and the existing review process failed to prevent it from reaching millions of Californians.
Through Federation’s membership in Jewish California (formerly JPAC), the nation’s largest statewide coalition of Jewish organizations, we are engaged in efforts to address what happened and to close the gaps that allowed it. Jewish California is working to advance legislation that will establish clear guardrails so that official state election materials cannot be exploited as a platform for bigotry. If you’d like to add your name in support of this legislation, you can do so here.
Our community faces antisemitic threats from multiple directions — on campus, online, and now through the mail. Moments like this demand that every level of government take its responsibility seriously. Federation will continue working with our partners across the state to hold institutions accountable and to protect Jewish Californians.
