Women of Beth Israel: Rosh Chodesh Elul

7:00PM - 8:00PM

The month of Elul brings us into a time of spiritual preparation for the coming year and the upcoming High Holy Days in Tishrei. It is during this month that one begins that process of teshuvah (turning or changing our ways). During our Rosh Chodesh ceremony, we will reflect on some of the traditions which are associated with the month of Elul and explore how we can bring these traditions, or create or own as we usher in this new month. This gathering will be led by Marcia Tatz Wollner.

Marcia Tatz Wollner is the Director of the Western Region of the March of the Living. She recently served as the Interim Religious School Director at Beth Israel. She has taught Holocaust education classes to students at many of our community religious schools and served as the Director, Literary Arts and Educational Resources at the Lawrence Family Jewish Community Center.

Please bring a candle to light and a glass of wine, a cup of tea, or your favorite beverage. This event is for women only. Prior to the event, please watch this video: Rosh Chodesh: A Guide to the Cycles of Our Lives

There is no fee, but please RSVP for planning purposes. This event is held virtually on Zoom. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the event.
