SUFFRAGE CELEBRATION, PART III: ALL STIRRED UP WITH LAURA KUMIN
Tuesday, December 22, 2020 | 7:00 pm PT
We celebrate the 100th anniversary of the 19th Amendment and women’s constitutional right to vote in a four-part series. Through music, dance, conversation and more, we honor the pioneers of the suffrage movement and recognize the challenges ahead.
In the third part of the series, Jewish Book Council author Laura Kumin shares stories and recipes from her book, All Stirred Up: Suffrage Cookbooks, Food, and the Battle for Women’s Right to Vote.
Laura will demonstrate what it takes to convert a suffrage-era recipe to modern-day cooking methods while celebrating the suffragists who created them and how they changed our lives and our world. She will get us in the holiday spirit with her historic gingerbread recipe, which includes an ingredient you might not expect!
