On Wednesday, February 14, retired California State Parks historian Alexander D. Bevil will conduct a two-hour lecture/ presentation on Old Town San Diego's pioneer mid-19th century “Jewish Men (and Women) of Enterprise,” describing their origins, types of business, and how they were able to successfully integrate themselves into the town’s commercial, social, and political landscape, while at times struggling to maintain their distinct religious and cultural traditions. He will then lead two separate walking tours at Old Town State Park on Saturday, February 17 and Sunday, February 18, to locate these sites.
