Hello Adventurers,

Be sure to wear athletic shoes for this hike, not flip-flops.

This trip begins in beautiful Old Del Mar in a less traveled location. Summertime in San Diego tends to be flooded with millions of tourists crowding the malls, restaurants, and of course, beaches. I will show you an area that is known by locals, but loved by all.

This trip starts on a flat beach that has hard packed sand (Great for running!). For the return, I'm going to take everyone on a trail that gives a beautiful view of the ocean from about 100 feet. The hike ends at a yummy Mexican restaurant where we'll have some lunch.

Be sure to bring
      Athletic shoes
      1 liter of water
      Sunscreen
      Hat
      Money for lunch

The Hike
      Distance: 4.5 miles
      Difficulty: Moderate
      Time: 2 1/2 hours

Where we are meeting:
There is a pay parking lot at intersection, Carmel Valley Road and McGonigle Road. The parking lot is $15 for the day, but you can try to find a place on the side of Carmel Valley Road for free parking. We are meeting on the south side of the bathrooms that are located at the end of the parking lot next to the beach.

If you are new to our group, we have a Facebook page called "NextGen Hiking Cluster."  I update this page with information about the hikes, fun facts, and of course, photos!

Hope to see you there
