The San Diego History Center’s annual gala, The Makers of San Diego History, honors the institutions, communities, and people who have made history in their own time. Over the years our honorees contributions have ranged from technological advances that have changed the world; to passionate community members who have instrumentally added to the fabric of our city; to various industries that have shaped San Diego. Recently, the Makers Gala honorees have also coincided with our marquee exhibitions. In 2017, we will be honoring the Jewish community in San Diego and celebrating their uniqueness and vast contributions to the place we all call home. It is our pleasure to showcase a different part of our history each year and to honor various aspects of San Diego’s story in a grand fashion through the Makers Gala.
