The United Nations Security Council approved Resolution 2334 on December 23, 2016 after the US reversed its traditional policy and abstained. Israelis from across the political spectrum denounced the American refusal to veto the resolution as a betrayal; the Obama Administration described its vote as nothing more than a reaffirmation of longstanding US positions.
