Grammy-nominated vocalist Perla Batalla kicks off the 2020-2021 Arts & Ideas season, a celebration of performers and intellectuals whose identities encompass a variety of talents, passions and backgrounds. Batalla, who became aware of her Jewish roots later in life, rose to prominence as a backing vocalist for Leonard Cohen before embarking on a solo career. Her performance will focus on the Cohen songbook and touch upon other highlights of her career.

The program is free to all and will be streamed from the David & Dorothea Garfield Theatre at the Lawrence Family JCC through our new platform, Uscreen.
