Women’s Philanthropy Welcomes Newest Members

Women’s Philanthropy Leaders - physically distant but socially engaged and connected.

Women’s Philanthropy is a community of diverse women who share a personal commitment to supporting the Jewish community. Last week during a meaningful and heartfelt virtual gathering, we celebrated these fantastic leaders, welcomed incoming board members, and said a fond farewell to some wonderful friends.

Silvana Christy is stepping down after three years of serving as Board Chair and Co-Chair.

Andrea Feinswog, Allison Gardenswartz, and Shana Lew are departing – we wish them all the best and thank them for their service.

Judi Gottschalk will take the reigns as Board Chair.

Myra Giesener will take the role of Campaign Chair.

A special thank you to everyone for your service and a warm welcome to our newest members, Myra Giesener, Laurie Hoshaw, Meg Mandel, Carla Modiano, and Elizabeth Weinrib.

New Women’s Philanthropy Manager, Jaime Fox, shared, “Why did I move here during a pandemic? Because I met Co-Chairs Judi Gottschalk and Silvana Christy, along with Senior Director of Philanthropy, Jodie Graber. After hearing them speak about the Women’s Philanthropy board, I knew this was a special place with an incredible group of women. My experiences and interactions thus far have confirmed my belief that Women’s Philanthropy is an amazing group of dedicated leaders who are deeply passionate about furthering the work of the Jewish Federation of San Diego County.”

Inspired by Jewish values, Women’s Philanthropy broadens and deepens engagement in Jewish life to strengthen Jewish identity, foster dynamic connections with Israel, and care for all Jews in need. To learn more about Women’s Philanthropy, please contact Jaime Fox at 858-737-7146.
