On Thursday, Federation hosted its long-standing Breakfast Club networking event at the beautiful Congregation Beth Israel synagogue in La Jolla. The morning brought together of more than 60 attendees for a hot kosher breakfast and a chance to meet and mingle with other Jewish professionals in the San Diego area.
The morning started with a briefing on the exciting new Jewish Teen Service Institute and Corp (JTSIC) project by director, Darren Schwartz. This program, a flagship of Federation’s Jewish Teen Initiative will engage thousands of San Diego’s teens in a volunteer capacity and engage them in meaningful Jewish connections with their peers while serving their community.
The special guest speaker for the event was President of Business Operations for the San Diego Gulls Hockey Club, Ari Segal. Ari shared with the audience his story of fighting his way into the hockey world and what the Gulls are all about. He discussed the business behind the scenes and what kind of work it took to bring professional hockey back to San Diego after so many years.
The Breakfast Club is a great opportunity if you’re a working professional looking to connect with others in the area and want to hear local professionals discuss their business.
