Teens Experience a Taste of Israel During LIKE ISRAEL Event

On Tuesday, March 6, a group of Jewish teens gathered at the Lawrence Family JCC to cook and explore 70 years of Israeli food during LIKE Israel. Led by Chef Palma, and in collaboration with JTI, YAM, KEN, the JCC, and Shevet Galim, teens and teen educators, gained a stronger connection to Israel through hands-on cooking, eating, and learning about authentic Israeli foods.

LIKE Israel educates teens about our Jewish homeland while encouraging a deeper exploration of personal identity – how it pertains the state, peoplehood, and culture of Israel.

Rabbi Zevi New, Founder & Director, Chabad's Youth Action Movement of San Diego, shared “The goal was to connect Jewish teens positively to Israel. Yet in the process we accomplished something special: we brought many of the San Diego Jewish teen community together under one roof, for a shared cause: to support our homeland.”

With your support, we are proud to partner with LIKE Israel and other important organizations making a difference in the lives of Jewish teens.
