Community is a Verb - Showcase 2018

On Saturday, March 10, our NextGen community gathered at the Hilton La Jolla Torrey Pines for an evening of friends, entertainment, and community building. Welcomed by our Chairs, Stephanie Malyn, Danielle Rugoff, and Haley Samiljan, and, the atmosphere was uplifting, festive, and overflowing with a whole lot of ruach.

A special thank you to Taylor and David Israel, Jessica Soria Korsunsky, Yoni Levinger, and Rabbi David Singer, for sharing their passion, personal stories and connection to community. From PJ Library to Torah on Tap, each unique story highlighted ways in which one can get involved, feel supported, or simply connect. Rabbi Singer inspired the room with his description of community. "Community is a verb," he shared, and we are all tasked with getting involved, taking action and doing some good.

Newcomer Alex Schindler said “Showcase was an amazing event! It showed me that we have a happy and ever-growing Jewish community filled with people who want to help and support one another.”

Guests enjoyed adult beverages, bites, and fun while connecting with other like-minded NextGeners. After listening to our incredible speakers, the room was on their feet as our headline performers, Larger than Life, (the ultimate boy band tribute show), took stage.
