San Diego's Philanthropy Leaders Gather for Good

More than 40 men attended our Table Captain Kick-Off for The Men’s Event, Underwritten by the Mizel Family Foundation, at the beautiful Palomar Hotel in downtown San Diego earlier this week. The gentlemen philanthropists raised more than $17,000 for Federation programs and also generously donated an additional $2,200 to the Victims of Terror Fund, a special fund set up by the Jewish Agency for Israel to provide direct support to victims and their families.

The keynote speaker for the event Ari Segal, San Diego Gull’s President, spoke to the group of men about his rich Jewish history, his passion for life and hockey, and how bringing professional hockey back to San Diego was not only good for sports fans, but the San Diego community as a whole. He elaborated on the Gulls view that philanthropy and community outreach are a major responsibility of the whole organization, two values strongly shared by those at the event.

The Men’s Event, Underwritten by the Mizel Family Foundation, takes place on December 16 and features keynote speaker Lt. Gen. Benny Gantz, the former Chief of Staff of the Israeli Defense Forces, who will speak about Israel, family, and community.

Registration for The Men’s Event is now open.
