Making Mitzvot Happen

Women’s Philanthropy Board Members & others participating in ADL’s Walk Against Hate

Members of the Women’s Philanthropy Board were happy to participate in two social action projects with Federation’s partners this month.  On Sunday, May 19th, members proudly marched alongside 3,500 other attendees in ADL'S Walk Against Hate.  The walk raised almost $115,000 and was Chaired by Federation Board Member Kira Finkenberg.

On Monday, May 20th, the Women’s Philanthropy Board served dinner for guests at Jewish Family Service's Safe Parking Program for unsheltered San Diegans living out of their vehicle.  Several members were joined by their teen children demonstrating how important it is for the next generation to be engaged in tzedakah.

Social Action Chair Stacie Bresler-Reinstein shared, “In addition to contributing to our community financially, it is also our responsibility as Women’s Philanthropy Board members to support Federation’s partners by engaging in hands-on social action projects. Hopefully our Board's involvement in the JFS Safe Parking program will serve as a beacon and encourage other groups to participate in this critical program.” The Women’s Philanthropy Board currently consists of 17 dedicated women philanthropists who meet on a monthly basis.
