Jewish Federation Sponsors Camp and Israel Fair at Adat Shalom

On February 11, Mosad Shalom, the religious school at Adat Shalom, hosted an amazing informational fair with 16 different camps and free donuts for all. This was one of 7 Federation sponsored events to help provide parents with an opportunity to see several Jewish programs and summer options all in one convenient location.

Jewish camping is evolving to meet the needs of our young Jewish community. This was evident by the diverse types of camps and Israel travel opportunities that were represented. Children enjoyed going from table to table to see what camps had to offer, while parents collected information on scholarships and grants offered by Federation and other organizations. Parents’ responses were extremely positive commenting on the knowledgeable, informative, and friendly booth staff. This was the first annual Jewish Camp Fair at Mosad Shalom, but it will not be the last.

Jewish camp weaves Jewish values, culture, and traditions into daily camp life, while helping campers to connect to their Jewish community. According to our partners at the Foundation for Jewish Camp, "The impact of Jewish camp is immediate—campers return home connected to a community and friends that will last them a lifetime. And it doesn’t stop there. Children with pivotal Jewish camp experiences are more likely to become adults who value their Jewish heritage, support Jewish causes, and take on leadership roles in their communities."

There are still camp scholarship opportunities available for Summer 2018! Please CLICK HERE to learn more.

We look forward to hosting many more camp related fairs and activities in the near future.
