Foster Family Fund Capacity Grant to Match Gifts at Hillel

Hillel’s capacity to engage and empower Jewish students now depends almost entirely on the nearly 1,000 individual contributors who support Hillel’s mission. Our $1.3 million operating budget provides the staffing and programs to have a presence on four campuses: SDSU, UC San Diego, CSU San Marcos and the University of San Diego.

We can face this challenge together by building a more sustainable base of funding. To build, strengthen and maintain our capacity to reach the estimated 2,500 Jewish students in San Diego, we ask our most dedicated supporters to consider increasing your annual support and by making a multi-year commitment for your annual contribution. With your multi-year commitment, we can work toward significantly growing our community of donors over the next few years knowing that you will be there for our students.

We are excited to announce a new incentive to help Hillel build our capacity.

For a limited time, thanks to a generous $100,000 grant from the Foster Family Fund, you can double your impact on Jewish life on campus in one of two ways:

  1. Make a first-time gift to Hillel of San Diego of up to $5,000, and your gift will be matched dollar for dollar.

  2. Renew your annual gift with an increase, and the value of the increase will be matched dollar for dollar up to $5,000.

By investing in Hillel, you are ensuring that the future of the Jewish people is in very good hands. With your increased support – of even 10% – over the next few years, you can ensure that Hillel will not scale back its programming in the face of significantly reduced institutional support. Instead, you can ensure that we engage more students and build a strong, vibrant Jewish future.

Thank you!
