Hineni. Here I am.

One phrase that holds an entire world: a quiet standing before memory, before pain, before courage. At this year’s Yom HaZikaron ceremony, we gather in that spirit and say together: We are here. We remember. We carry. We continue.

Yom HaZikaron, Israel’s Day of Remembrance, is dedicated to commemorating Israel’s fallen soldiers and victims of terror. After a year marked by profound heartbreak as well as soaring hope and joy, we pause as a community and choose reflection and unity.

This is a ceremony of presence — of those who are no longer with us, and those who choose not to look away.

Together with Israeli American Council, Jewish Federation of San Diego, the Lawrence Family Jewish Community Center, and Jewish Community Foundation San Diego, we invite you to gather for an evening of reflection, remembrance, and shared strength. We will honor lives lost, stand in support of grieving families, and hold space for collective memory.

Come be present. Feel. Stand quietly before memory and courage.

In the aftermath of devastation, we rebuild. In moments of uncertainty, we draw strength from one another. The spirit of Israel endures because we show up, because we say with full hearts: Hineni.
