Federation Statement on CFA’s Antisemitic Labeling of JPAC
10/23/2025
Jewish Federation of San Diego strongly condemns the blatantly offensive language used in a candidate endorsement questionnaire distributed by the California Faculty Association (CFA). The Jewish Public Affairs Committee (JPAC) – a coalition of California’s leading Jewish community organizations, social service agencies, and Holocaust education initiatives – was singled out by CFA as a group that “harms working people.”
Labeling JPAC in this way is antisemitic in its effect and places the Jewish community in California in a deeply troubling position, undermining the essential work our organizations do statewide.
We join JPAC and the California Legislative Jewish Caucus in calling on CFA to publicly apologize, issue a revised and appropriate questionnaire, and reaffirm its commitment not to discriminate against Jews or those who seek to partner with the Jewish community.
