Some of the health and wellness activity stations will be held outside. There will be an optional fitness component. If you would like to participate in the fitness activity, please come dressed in athletic clothes/shoes.

Location:   

This event will be held at a private residence in La Jolla. Location provided upon registration.

 

A light kosher-style brunch will be served. If you require a certified kosher meal, please let us know by November 29, 2022, so we can make arrangements.

Meet our health and wellness guides:

Julie Datnow

Julie Datnow is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in private practice in La Jolla. She works with individual adults and older adolescents as well as with couples and families. Julie utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy approaches along with mindfulness and communication skills to help patients develop their ability to manage anxiety, depression, and relationship challenges so that they can live a more meaningful, intentional, and enjoyable life. Julie is wife to Paul Datnow and mom of 3 daughters. She is a Jewish Federation of San Diego board member and a proud Lion of Judah

Dr. Shayna Kaufmann

Dr. Shayna Kaufmann is a Clinical Psychologist and Founder of Embrace The Middle. Her teachings, workshops, and meditation retreats guide women to bring more authenticity, presence, and self-compassion into their lives. Shayna’s work draws from her clinical background and two decades of Zen practice. She is a published researcher, speaker, and former adjunct faculty member at two universities. She is currently writing a book about her original research on 620 women in midlife. Shayna also serves on the boards of several community organizations. She has been happily married since 1999 and is a proud mom of two college-aged daughters.

Alina Sanchez

Alina Sanchez is a sound healing therapist, a third-level Reiki master, flowers of Bach alchemist, and an herbalist. She is the founder of Oritah Organics, a wellness shop with all-natural products handmade by Alina. She believes in healing through nature and sound. Over the last 8 years of her practice, she has witnessed people transform their lives through the vibrations of the singing bowls. Alina’s hobbies include yoga, cooking, and nature walks. She is the mother of 4 beautiful children and 4 furry dogs and has been married to her husband for 25 years.

Heidi Verner

Heidi Verner is a fitness instructor and has been sharing her passion for good health with her clients for more than 15 years. She brings copious amounts of positive energy, good vibes, and a focus on wellness to her classes. When it comes to working out, Heidi loves to flow and move mindfully. Together with those who participate in Heidi-led activities, she celebrates movement, what our bodies can do, and where we are in the present moment.
