Position Title: Donation Coordinator
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Job Summary:
Reporting to the Controller, and working closely in support of the Development team, the Donation Coordinator will be responsible for the oversight, standardization, and management of donor services processes, documentation and flow of cash and pledges, including pledge entry, cash application, donor statements, and fielding related calls and inquiries from donors.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for accurately coding imported pledge/payment batches in CRM while ensuring that donations/payments will be recorded using best practices to follow annual campaign structure, is consistent with historical practices, and includes proper supporting documentation
- Responsible for completing daily cash application batches
- Process adjustments and write-offs per donor or internal staff requests
- Working closely with the Database and Development applications manager, run routine and ad-hoc queries that report data in support of campaign and accounting operations, address help desk requests
- Maintain quality profile data, such as name, address, and relationships
- Research and respond to all donor inquiries through email and over the phone
- Work with the Senior Accountant to reconcile database information to the general ledger
- Manage the monthly and quarterly statements and annual tax statement acknowledgment processes
- Record daily cash receipts including daily bank deposits, batched credit card deposits and ACH transactions
- Invoice monthly rents for and post payments for building tenants
- Enter accounts payable invoices and handle weekly check runs
- Assist with daily Finance Department activities as needed
Experience, Knowledge, and Skills
- Two years accounting clerk/ associate level work experience required
- Well organized and detail oriented, with an ability to manage time and multi-task efficiently and proficiently
- Proficiency with accounting, data entry and donor database systems and Microsoft Office programs; strong proficiency in MS Excel required
- Strong communication skills
- Work well independently as well as contribute successfully within a team environment
- Two years’ experience in non-profit accounting and donor tracking strongly preferred
- Ability to work with a wide variety of people, including staff and volunteers
- Must be able to work on-site
Education
- Associate Degree with minimum two or more years of experience providing accounting and administrative support

Weekend and evening work, when required, is paid.
This position is onsite at our San Diego office and does not allow for remote or hybrid work. Relocation is not offered for this position. All candidates must be able to successfully complete a background check at the offer stage, and be able to provide proof of the ability to work in the US without support.

Salary Range $48,000-$56,000 / $23.08 – 26.92/hour,
