WOMEN'S ANNUAL CAMPAIGN

The Women's Annual Campaign gives every woman the opportunity to make a gift in her own name and to assume individual responsibility for saving, sustaining, and enriching Jewish lives. In addition, these women lead other women and their own families by example. Get involved with our Jewish Federation by making a gift to our Annual Campaign and make a difference in our world today.

Why a Woman's Gift?

Women take their inspiration from the Jewish traditions of tzedakah and tikkun olam - social justice and repairing the world. We offer many opportunities for women to take a stand on issues affecting our community and inspire other Jewish women.

Women's Giving: A Growing Trend

Across the country, close to 30 percent of all gifts to Jewish Federation annual campaigns are made by women. Here in San Diego, that number is even more significant. Year after year, women's giving is the fastest-growing component of our Annual Campaign, representing almost 40 percent of all our donors.

Why Do We Encourage an Individual Gift?

As women continue to join men in the courtrooms, the board rooms and the operating rooms, we can also join them in assuming equal responsibility for saving, sustaining and enriching Jewish lives. We all share pride in our community's strong, nationally renowned Annual Campaign, which provides financial resources to our agencies.

Making a gift means more than writing a check. It signifies...

  • Power - The more we give individually, the greater our power as leaders and policy makers, and the stronger our influence in determining how our gifts are spent.

  • Leadership - Through our own actions, involvement and generosity, we teach our children and our community about their own responsibilities of meeting the needs of our global Jewish community.

  • Support - When support for Israel and local communities are measured, government leaders count the number of donors. Stand up and be counted!

  • Mitzvot - As Jews, we each have a personal obligation to practice the mitzvah of tzedakah, even those who are in need of tzedakah themselves. We each have the opportunity to honor our distinct identity as individual donors.

  • Community - With your individual gift, you join an exceptional group of women who share similar values and are working to ensure a Jewish future for our children and our grandchildren.
