In 2010–11, along with a name change, Jewish Federation of San Diego County initiated a new structure: a collaborative effort among several centers, each with a particular emphasis. This structure will enable us to optimize planning for the future; connect Jews in San Diego to Israel, the worldwide Jewish community and each other; provide a voice for our community in the public sphere; and, most importantly, be a partner in Jewish giving.

The Jewish Community Relations Center provides a voice of the Jewish community in media, government and intergroup affairs. The Community Planning & Innovation Center helps Jewish communal institutions and organizations understand, predict and plan for the Jewish community’s needs in San Diego, Israel and around the world and strategize how to effectively meet those needs. The Community Engagement & Leadership Center connects Jews in San Diego to each other to ensure the effectiveness of our community’s institutions, synagogues and organizations by improving volunteer engagement as well as volunteer and professional leadership development. The Israel & Overseas Center connects Jews in San Diego to the worldwide Jewish community. |
